Dream of Morni as tourism hub being realised: Khattar : The Tribune India

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said his dream of developing the Morni hills as a tourism hub was now being realised.

Khattar was in Morni to review adventure sports facilities such as paragliding, hot air balloon, parasailing, power motor, e-hydrofoil, jet scooter and boating.

He himself experienced some of the activities. He was accompanied by Union Minister Rattan Lal Kataria, Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, state Tourism Minister Kanwar Pal and Minister of State for Sports Sandeep Singh among others.

Speaking to mediapersons, the Chief Minister said people had to travel far away to Manali for adventure sports activities. By starting such activities in the Morni hills, people would not only get an opportunity to indulge in exciting activities, but it would also lead to the economic development of the surrounding areas.

Paragliding club to be named after Milkha

The Chief Minister announced that that a paragliding club would be named after Flying Sikh Milkha Singh.

He said nine one-day trekking routes had been prepared for adventure sports activities in the area. Soon after finalising night stay arrangements, two-day trekking routes would also be finalised.

Later in the day, the Haryana Chief Minister inaugurated the Panchkarma Wellness Centre at the Nature Camp, Thapli, in the Morni area. Manohar Lal Khattar said the state had set a target of planting three crore saplings in the near future.

Extra marks for students for plantation

Emphasising on the concept of ‘Oxy Van’, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced a new policy in which extra marks

will be given to students who cater and nurture saplings from Class VIII to Class XII.
